Position overview:
The Sales Engineer (SE) serves as the technical core of PingCx's sales efforts, working closely with sales teams to assist potential Service Providers and End Users from evaluating products to finalizing deals. This role connects customer needs with PingCx's platform features, converting complex technical requirements into engaging, solution-focused presentations and proposals. The Sales Engineer performs technical discovery, conducts platform demonstrations, and addresses detailed technical questions during the sales process. Collaboration with Product Management and Customer Success teams is vital to ensure solutions are accurate and feasible. With expert knowledge in system development and a passion for solving operational issues, the Sales Engineer is key to driving revenue growth and establishing long-term credibility with clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Technical sales support: Partner with the sales team to deliver technically credible, value-driven presentations and demonstrations of the PingCx Lifecycle Commissioning®platform. Translate customer operational challenges into clear use cases that highlight the platform's capabilities and ROI. Participate in pre-sales customer-facing activities, including trade shows and conferences.
- Solution design and scoping: Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their building systems, commissioning workflows, and operational requirements. Develop tailored solution proposals and scoping documents that map PingCx capabilities to customer needs.
- Platform demonstrations: Own the end-to-end demo experience, configuring and delivering live or recorded product demonstrations and webinars that resonate with both technical stakeholders and executive buyers. Respond to detailed technical questions and proof-of-concept requests throughout the evaluation process.
- Collaboration with internal teams: Serve as a liaison between the sales team and Product Management, Customer Success, and Engineering. Surface customer feedback and recurring technical objections to inform product development priorities and improve go-to-market messaging.
- Proposal and RFP support: Lead the technical sections of RFP responses, proposals, and statements of work. Ensure all commitments are technically sound and aligned with PingCx's current platform capabilities and roadmap.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or significant experience in HVAC, Building Automation, Facilities Management, Commissioning, or other related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical, customer success, or account management role, preferably in Building Automation and Controls.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls.
- Niagara N4 certified and/or other system certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel less than 20% of the time.
